What was the food highlight of your year?
In Austin, Hillside Farmacy's pork chop (preferably with a Negroni). On the road probably Big Star in Wicker Park, Chicago.
What was the music highlight of your year?
Numero Group reissuing the Bedhead records, which are so wonderfully beautiful. And timely as they are exactly what I was listening to in the original Mineral days. Also I put a new record out this year. That was a personal highlight. I can't say that most years.
Was there a moment when food and music came together in a memorable way?
My favorite music and food moments are usually when they're playing the exact right music when me and my wife are having dinner somewhere. The Velvet Underground, Jackson 5, Tom Waits, some surprising music can feel romantic in that setting.
