Year in Food & Music

The Year in Food & Music

BOB NANNA

November 30, 2014 Colby Mancasola
bob-nanna-braid

Bob Nanna has played in the bands Braid, Hey Mercedes, The City On Film, Lifted Bells, and Jack & Ace.

What was the food highlight of your year?

Honestly, my eventual wedding cake at a pre-event tasting. It was a roasted almond buttercream deal from a place called Sweety Pies in the suburbs. Couldn't stop raving about it. At the actual wedding, everything was a blur so I don't remember tasting it then. Ha!

What was the music highlight of your year?

Playing new Braid songs live. If I had to pick one specific show it would be the Common Ground Festival we played in Lansing on the day No Coast was released. A lot of good bands and good friends in the house.

Was there a moment when food and music came together in a memorable way?

On the Downwrite tour I did solo with Matt Pryor, Mark Rose, and Steve Soboslai, a chef here in town, Chef Greg Biggers, treated us to an unbelievable meal at Sofitel. Ate so much I had a hard time singing that night.
